In today’s #Villagestory we would like to introduce you to the village of Fanidiama in more detail.
Fanidiama is located in the extreme south of Mali. Only a few minutes by car separate the village from the borders with Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso. The small town of Zégoua is also only 9 km away. This results in very active trade and cultural exchange as well as comparatively good incomes and prosperity in Fanidiama, which is dominated by Christians.
During our car ride to Fanidiama, we can’t help but be amazed. The landscape is incredibly beautiful. Farmers grow corn, wheat, cotton and peanuts in the fields around the village. As we drive by in our Africa GreenTec car, some raise their heads and look at us curiously.
Fanidiama thus offers excellent conditions for productive agriculture. The farmers can export their harvest at good prices and without long transport routes to the neighboring town and countries.
When we arrive in the center of Fanidiama, it is bustling with activity. Children are playing in the streets, people are sitting in front of the kiosks and talking animatedly. The general atmosphere in Fanidiama is positive. Many service providers and craftsmen have set up their own businesses in the village. Especially the many welding shops on the main street directly catch our eye.
There, the welders make and repair bedsteads, sewing machines and much more for the local population and beyond. A very active social life has thus developed in the village center. People from the village, visitors and traders from the region and neighboring countries buy and sell or exchange news from the region. There is mutual appreciation here and people benefit from each other.
Fanidiama is therefore an ideal location for an ImpactSite from Africa GreenTec. Craftsmen, service providers, restaurant and cafe owners in the village can use electricity to expand their businesses. Our cold storage facilities and solar pumps make it possible for the many farmers to increase their crop yields and minimize losses.
With access to electricity and sustainable appliances, local people can also improve their personal lives and housing conditions. Refrigerators, fans, educational and entertainment electronics, as well as street lighting and electricity for public facilities support local development and satisfaction for the entire village community.
Fanidiama is well on its way to becoming a thriving small town. With our sustainable solutions, we want to support this.
