Cinzana-Gare – Electrification Through Own Initiative

In October 2018, our ImpactSite® was commissioned with the Solartainer® Amali in Cinzana-Gare. The community already had an electricity grid, which we expanded with our SmartMeters. Gaining access to solar power has enabled the dairy, the big market and many other small businesses such as fishmongers and shops to be more productive.

In the South-East of Mali

Cinzana-Gare is located in the south-east of Mali on the national road RN6, which connects the towns of Sikasso and Ségou. The Bani River lies slightly south of the community. Due to the location, many residents earn their money by selling fish and other food.

Outlook – What's Next for Cinzana-Gare?

In Cinzana-Gare, unlike other villages, the Solartainer Amali is located just outside the centre. This is why we plan to connect the secondary village to the electricity grid in the next few years and place the plant in the middle of the two villages.
