Kaï – A Boost to Agriculture

Our ImpactSite® with a Solartainer® Amali has been in operation in Kaï since November 2018. Today, more than half of the community is receiving our solar power. The fishing business in particular can now reliably cool its yields and significantly reduce spoilage thanks to access to solar power.

The Sikasso Province in the South of Mali

Kaï is located west of the national road RN7. The capital Bamako is about 430 km away. The community is located in the Sikasso region, a green and very fertile area in the south of Mali on the border to Burkina Faso. The region is very agricultural, yielding crops such as cashew, mango, peanuts and tomatoes, amongst others.

Outlook – What's Next for Kaï?

In the future, we will expand our ImpactSite in Kai with the Cooltainer®. Enabling farmers, fishermen and traders to refrigerate their food and thus avoid food waste.
